The Opportunity:
KBR is currently undertaking Expression of Interest applications for a Disposals Manager for various Maritime Programs in our Capability Sustainment and Modernisation operational unit.
You will be responsible for the preparation and planning of a disposals program for major Defence assets within the Maritime Domain. Understanding of ILS, Supply Chain Management, and Defence disposals policies is a must.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Develop Specialist Military Equipment (SME) disposal plan in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant Commonwealth and ITAR legislation and policies
- Manage potential risk with focus on hazardous materials and environmental damage
- Identification of the most cost-effective form of asset disposal (i.e. scuttling vs gifting) to reduce overall cost to return funding to the sustainment of the current capability
- Manage perceived and actual conflict of interest in which can arise when disposing major military assets
- Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with all staff and stakeholders
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant industry experience with related qualifications
- Deep understanding of Defence disposals policies and procedures
- Experience working on major projects within Defence or related technical industry (CASG/Defence/Defence Industry)
- Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills
- Project management qualifications/experience desired
- The ability to gain and maintain a NV-1 minimum Australian Government Security Clearance
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
