KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions division is seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect (Cloud Architect) to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) efforts related to Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM).The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to architect, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for diverse business needs, leveraging the full capabilities of AWS services. The candidate should be proficient in designing scalable and resilient architecture, implementing best security practices, and optimizing performance and cost efficiency. Experience should include a proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams in complex cloud migration projects, driving innovation, and delivering business value through cloud technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance AWS infrastructures
- Provide guidance related to implementing and administering Configuration Management, CI/CD, and Cloud Monitoring Solutions.
- Provide guidance and assist in establishing preferred practices and procedures for implementing solutions in the cloud
- Lead architectural analysis on currently existing custom and COTS Software Applications to make recommendations on the path forward with Software Modernization and Cloud Migration, including scoping of requirements, cost considerations, level of effort, architectural and technical recommendations.
- Design, develop, and deploy technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest AWS services and best practices
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience: 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 5 years focused on AWS. Demonstrated history of successful large-scale AWS projects.
Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance + Single Scope Background Investigation or clearance eligibility.
Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (preferred). AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty (preferred).
- Experience supporting the DoD community.
This position offers a flexible remote working environment.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $116,160-174,790. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, contract affordability and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
