This position is responsible for a diverse range of tasks related to the upkeep and functionality of facilities. This role encompasses carpentry, furniture installation, building maintenance, and office services, including shipping and inventory management. What you’ll do
- Arrange modular wall products and system furniture according to layout plans from space planners and departmental leadership.
- Assist with building maintenance tasks, including replacing fixture lamps, relocating data drops, addressing minor plumbing issues, and repairing damaged walls and door hardware.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship in painting, ceiling tile replacement, carpeting, and other building finishes.
- Maintain campus grounds, including tree trimming, cleanup, and snow removal.
- Manage shipping and deliveries, inventory control, and recycling processes using company software.
- Collaborate with vendors to validate purchase orders by checking for damages and verifying quantities and accuracy.
- Operate dock equipment and lifts safely, following company-provided training.
- Support department leadership in campus maintenance and space planning initiatives.
- Be available for occasional after-hours work and travel to field offices within Kansas.

What you need
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Capability to stand, crouch, and climb for extended periods to complete repairs, utilize ladders, scaffolding, and engage in various types of manual labor.
- Potential exposure to chemicals, glues, and paints; awareness of electrical hazards.
- Manual dexterity to use hand tools effectively.
- Comfort with heights, as some tasks may require work on rooftops.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, and other environmental factors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and quietly in occupied areas.
