Program Summary
KBR will sustain the operational well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base (Spain), Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, and various facilities in Turkey. Our services encompass program management, civil engineering, morale and recreation support, postal operations, safety services, logistics, and more. With a five-year base period and three one-year options, KBR ensures these bases operate smoothly, allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.
Job Summary
Serve as a Firefighter assigned to a crew engaged in airfield, structural firefighting, crash-rescue. Drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity, to respond to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials for the purpose of stopping or controlling the release, and to conduct performance of noninvasive basic first aid procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Extinguishes and controls fires efficiently.
- May drive emergency vehicles to the fire scene, following a predetermined route or choosing an alternate route if necessary.
- Operates pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweep nozzles, and other related equipment.
- Utilizes specialized protective gear when handling situations involving poisonous gases, radioactive materials, and hazardous biological substances.
- Conducts daily preventive maintenance, including tasks such as oil changes, pump packing replacement, and draining and flushing tanks, to ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition.
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of firefighting experience in a structured fire protection role that delivers fire suppression services.
- Possess practical knowledge in fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency incident response, including the operation of fire equipment, as well as understanding water distribution and supply needs.
- Knowledgeable about the properties and handling of aircraft fuel propellants, oxidizers, and weapons.
- Hold the required certifications as per DOD 6055.06 M standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 of the last 3 years should have been spent in an organization that provides aircraft crash, fire, and rescue services.
- Proven ability to understand and apply fire suppression, rescue, and emergency incident techniques, along with expertise in operating fire equipment and managing water distribution and supply needs.
