Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
The Senior Cook is responsible for overseeing and preparing a wide range of high-quality meals for service members, staff, and authorized personnel in a U.S. Air Force dining facility. This position ensures all food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to military standards, regulations, and health and safety protocols. The Senior Cook also assists in supervising junior kitchen staff, mentoring culinary skills, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide a team of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring efficient operation of the kitchen.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to junior cooks to improve skills, efficiency, and performance.
- Ensure adherence to food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining area.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards (e.g., Tri-Services Food Code, HACCP, OSHA).
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated.
- Report any maintenance needs or malfunctioning equipment to the Dining Facility Manager or Supervisor.
- Provide high-quality food service to military personnel and ensure that all meals meet customer expectations.
- Address any food-related concerns or special requests.
- Performs all other duties assigned.
- Manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and government officials via telephone and in-person
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a large-scale government food service operation.
- Must be able to speak and read English at Level 2
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supervising or leading a team of kitchen staff.
All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.
All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
All male candidates must have completed their military service.
