Job Summary
KBR is seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscaping Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating ride mowers, hedge trimmers, and other mechanical equipment used for grass cutting. The candidate must also be proficient in grass-cutting procedures, especially around airfields, and possess the ability to safely operate and maintain mowing equipment. Additionally, the candidate should have a working knowledge of concrete pouring, asphalt application including ground preparation, the use of relevant tools, and any necessary training.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs duties in ground maintenance, (landscaping) such a grass cutting with weed eater, ride mowers and farm tractors.
- Performs duties in pavement maintenance, such as ground preparation for concrete (hand mix or ready mix), applying asphalt (hot or cold) or quick dry airfield products.
- Perform duties cleaning work areas and other areas as directed, policing up debris throughout the base.
- Perform duties with hand tools such a shovel, rake, mattock, sledgehammer, jackhammer or impact/rotary hammer.
- Perform duties involving lifting heavy equipment and materials
- Will serve as a worker and driver when necessary or as directed by supervisor.
- Will perform all duties in accordance with the instructions of his/her superior.
- Operate ride mowers, hedge trimmers, and other landscaping equipment effectively and safely.
- Perform grass-cutting and landscaping tasks around airfields, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain and perform basic servicing of all grass-cutting machinery and tools.
- Prepare ground surfaces and execute concrete pouring projects, including leveling and finishing.
- Utilize appropriate tools for concrete preparation and ensure proper training and safety procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of landscaping and concrete tasks.
- Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Physical requirements include extended sitting or standing and working in normal and adverse weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
- Daily use of organizational and multitasking abilities with a focus on detail, safety regulations, accuracy and quality of work
- Communicate and work effectively with colleagues
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish citizenship
- High school graduate.
- Minimum B class valid driving license.
- Capable to speak, read, write and understand English Language Level 1
- Previous landscaping experience to include operating ride mowers, hedge trimmers, and related landscaping equipment
- Familiarity with ground preparation and concrete pouring, including the use of tools and safety measures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience as a skilled or unskilled labor in a factory. Need to possession of a testimonial.
- Relevant training or certification in landscaping or concrete work
- Familiarity with standard farming, gardening or construction environment.
All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor. It is necessary to have a letter from a valid hospital stating that there is no problem in working in heavy duty outside works.
All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
All male candidates must have completed their military service.
