Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and maintenance of a golf course. The primary goal is to ensure that the course is in excellent condition for play and aesthetically pleasing for golfers. Mowing and edging the grass on fairways, greens, tees, and rough areas to maintain a consistent and well-manicured appearance. Bunker maintenance, sprinkler system maintenance, shrub maintenance, equipment operation, chemical applications, general cleanup. Diagnosing mechanical problems, preventive and routine maintenance, and repair of equipment such as riding and hand mowers, and sweepers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintains landscaping within a large scale
- Performs maintenance and repair in soil preparation for seeding, tree and bush trimming, and different aspects of grass growing.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools: rake, string trimmer, edger, blower, shovel, pruning shears, etc. in landscape maintenance.
- Perform maintenance on landscaping equipment.
- Trim and cultivate vegetative materials.
- Rake and edge bunkers.
- Repair and maintain divots.
- Watering vegetation as assigned.
- Pick up litter around golf course, medians and trash receptacles.
- Sweep, dusts and cleans shop and maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipment.
- Maintains and repairs irrigation system.
- Monitor greens and identify problems without supervision.
- May be asked to mix/apply pesticides under direct supervision of a licensed applicator
- Performs duties as a Grounds & Landscaping/Laborer (75%).
- Performs maintenance, cleans, and inventories tools and equipment (25%)
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Comply with all OSHA, USAF, local safety directives and regulations
- Use knowledge and the understanding of all types of grass cutting equipment such as, rid-a-mowers, weed-eaters, tiller machines, tractor cutters, pruners, chain saws (assorted sizes) and hedge pruners.
- Use the understanding of routine maintenance principles to include sharpening blades, changing oil, fueling, inspecting and setting up equipment.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a Turkish citizen.
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language at a 1 level.
- Have a current B driver's license.
- Must be a high school graduate and must possess a diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in grounds and landscaping.
All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.
All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
All male candidates must have completed their military service.
