LinkedIn seeks engineers for its Site Operations team to proactively and efficiently respond to alerts and resolve application, system and network issues affecting the company platform and ensure maximum availability.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, should be passionate about open source technologies and platforms, leverage and develop automation as a key component to operating large-scale systems and display an ability to spot long-term trends in a production environment. Additionally, they should also be responsible for making sure these services are always available, worldwide, no matter what.
This role will be based in Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities:
- Proactively collaborate with engineering and non-engineering teams to maintain availability and performance SLAs of the LinkedIn application stack and infrastructure using homegrown and commercially available tools
- Adeptly perform application/network/system troubleshooting to quickly resolve issues per documented procedures
- Candidly work with Site Engineering and Development teams, as well as coordinate/communicate/manage notifications and updates of issues affecting site availability/performance to customers and executive management
- Develop tools to effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale environment
- Identify and automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve issue resolution time
- Act as an effective team player that is able to work closely with peers and other operations or engineering teams
- Showcase organizational skills with the ability to multitask in order to handle multiple tasks in an interrupt-driven, real-time environment
- Working in our Site Operations team may require your shift to be rotational, outside of regular working hours, including weekends
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experience with incident management and escalation process
- Experience with Linux systems administration and/or DevOps
- Experience with network concepts, IPv4/6, TCP/IP stack and common Internet protocols (http, https, dns, ftp etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a technical operations or similar role
- Experience in Shell Scripting and Python
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to clearly articulate the problems and solutions to engineering or non-engineering teams at LinkedIn
- Good trouble-shooting and analysis skills to deep dive into a problem and drive it to a resolution
- Experience in documentation and streamlining processes
- Ability to review, recommend and implement new processes to achieve or improve the site level SLAs
