What does a successful VP, Business Communications, do at Fiserv?
The VP of Business Communications for the Financial Institutions (FI) Group and Issuer Solutions will be at the forefront of shaping our culture and elevating the Fiserv brand. This dynamic leader will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth with an integrated communications strategy to proactively engage our associates, clients and consumers while building positive perceptions of our brand. As part of our Fiserv Communications leadership team, you will have a leading role in advancing the Fiserv brand worldwide.
What you will do:
- Build, protect and enhance Fiserv’s reputation through clear and impactful communications in support of FI Group & Issuer Solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the FI Group and Issuer Solutions strategies, priorities, and accomplishments – and how this can be both enabled and amplified with strategic communications plans.
- Serve as a communications advisor to the Head of Communications, FI Group and Issuer Solutions CMO, and the FI Group and Issuer Solutions management teams.
- Partner with the FI Group and Issuer Solutions CMO to develop and execute strategic communications planning – proactively working across all business teams to identify and shape internal and external opportunities to build positive brand perceptions during key business moments.
- Deliver integrated communications plans and messaging to position FI Group and Issuer Solutions senior executives as thought leaders; engage associates; and amplify key enterprise moments.
- Establish strong relationships with priority media and influencers to deliver coverage for relevant campaigns and business moments. Serve as a company spokesperson and lead for media interactions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the external communications team, ensuring that all members are equipped to deliver high-quality work.
- Monitor and manage the Company’s reputation across all media channels ensuring a consistent and positive public image. Oversee the management of inquiries, responses, and any potential issues that could affect the Company’s reputation.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- 12 years of an equivalent combination of educational background, communications experience, and/or military experience.
- 7+ years' experience managing a team.
- B2B Communications experience
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work weekends/evenings, as necessary
