John Deere Dubuque: Instrumentation & Electronic Test Mechanic
As anInstrumentation & Electronic Test Mechanic with John Deere in Dubuque, IA, you will:
Develop, install, maintain, and operate electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical instrumentation and test equipment in test laboratory and instrumentation vehicles. In addition, you will conduct tests to obtain engineering data for evaluation and design of experimental equipment, attachments, or component parts. Employees will work in an environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
- Work from written or verbal instructions and use specifications, test procedures, prints or diagrams as required.
- Sets up and maintain test fixtures, associated controls, and instrumentation.
- Perform related mechanical work to satisfy specified test conditions, conduct tests, and obtain accurate data.
- Utilize instrumentation and test equipment to conduct tests such as vibration, fatigue, stress, performance, and efficiency.
- Diagnose malfunctions and make corrections.
- Calculate, record or plot data gathered from tests as required.
- Check, service, calibrate, and maintain inventory of test equipment to keep it in satisfactory operating condition.
- Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
- Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
- Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
- At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
- Electronics degree and/or equivalent education or at least 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- Experience setting up and maintaining electronic instrumentation and test equipment.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends).
