The Inventory Deployment Analyst (IDA) role is within the Merchandise, Planning, and Allocation (MP&A) department, which is considered the analytical engine that strives to make the best product available at the right time, place, and price. The Inventory Deployment Analyst is responsible for the deployment of merchandise from Distribution Centers to stores or fulfillment centers for an assigned product category. The IDA uses the merchandise plan to ensure that inventory is managed appropriately within the business strategy. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with associates across many functions in the business, with an emphasis on strong analytical skills in a dynamic corporate retail environment. This position reports to a Manager or Sr. Inventory Planner.
- Formulate and execute an inventory deployment plan by setting parameters considering demand forecast inputs on a store & product level basis.
- Communicate priorities and mitigate potential issues to ensure product lands in stores/fulfillment centers on time in partnership with supply chain planners, operations, and distribution center teams.
- Evaluate the minimum placement quantities in varying store formats and its implications on store allocations in collaboration with Space Planning partner.
- Partner with Inventory Planner on placing buy order quantities based on the merchandise plan and confirm that they fit within production capacities and schedules.
- Understand and implement product strategies and priorities according to the assortment goals of the Merchant team.
- Effectively communicate inventory levels to influence business strategies on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis.
Qualifications
- Inventory management or retail supply chain knowledge preferred.
- Proven ability to learn and apply new software technology. Systems used: Manugistics/JDA, SAP, MicroStrategy, Micro Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Effective analytical abilities – synthesizes and evaluates quantitative data to conceptualize business decisions.
- Problem-solving skills – proactively recommends solutions to various partners and actively works towards process improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, very agile environment - a drive for success and making appropriate recommendations within quick turnaround times.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
