The Opportunity
Insitu Pacific is seeking a motivated Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our team
The Senior Subcontracts Specialist is responsible for conducting complex strategic sourcing initiatives (pre-award) and the ongoing supplier management and subcontract management (post-award) in accordance with Insitu Pacific's policies and procedures. The Senior Subcontracts Specialist is also responsible for providing advice to management and staff on contractual matters on existing subcontracts and new business opportunities
Responsibilities
- Identify gaps in Insitu Pacific supply chain's capability to meet business needs.
- Conduct pre award sourcing activities using RF(x) suite of documentation.
- Conduct difficult and often complex high-risk procurements.
- Review proposals, negotiate contractual documentation and select or recommend suppliers.
- Carry out post award contract execution and contract administration.
- Manage post award supplier relationship and performance management of suppliers.
- Be the point of contact with assigned subcontractor/supplier for all related contractual matters.
- Ensure that Insitu Pacific conducts its contractual business in compliance with all Export and Import Control requirements.
- Provide support, advice, training and education to other departments on SM&P policies, procedures and contractual matters to protect Insitu Pacific's commercial interests.
- Development of user guides and training materials.
- Mentor Subcontracts Specialists and provide guidance on complex subcontracting issues.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in a law or business-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10 years' experience in high-value contract/subcontract management and administration.
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation, ensuring solutions are consistent with organisation objectives.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Interpersonal skills to develop trust and influence.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontracts and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work accurately and unsupervised, and the ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
- Understanding of budgets, cost control and financial performance management
- Demonstrate ability to meet and adhere to critical deadlines.
Desirable
- Understanding of Defence Contracting policies and procedures.
- Understanding of category / commodity management
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
- Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
- You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024. Please refer to the Department of Defence website to understand these requirements.
