The Opportunity -
Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
BDA is looking for a Configuration and Data Management Specialist to join the Engineering Strategy & Operations team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce. In this role you will be making a meaningful contribution to data compliance and traceability in support of the Battlespace Communications System for the Australian Defence Force.
This role is based on-site in Brisbane, Queensland.
As a Configuration and Data Management Specialist within BDA, you will
- Develop, implement and maintain Configuration and Data Management processes and procedures in accordance with business and customer requirements.
- Manage the accuracy and completeness of configuration status accounting records and administer program-specific configuration management tools.
- Audit configuration items to verify conformance to functional/performance requirements and approved baselines.
- Provide backup support to the change focal for Change Control Boards.
- Implement and maintain the controls necessary for data to meet security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
- Control data dispatch, packaging, protection and acknowledgement of receipt for Classified Data, Archived Data and documentation and execute data transfers as required.
- Conduct data audit checks within tools to ensure correct principles are being applied and records management practices are adhered to and compliant.
- Effectively interface with program team members and customers to support services delivered under the program.
- Develop and deliver training on the program's product lifecycle management systems and provide mentoring to the project team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in Configuration and/or Data Management.
- Formal Configuration Management training / certification (advantageous).
- Experience using a Product Lifecycle Management system or electronic document management system.
- Previous experience in defence or engineering highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with attention to detail.
