Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Specialist, Cost Control to support the USAID Procurement Service Agent (PSA) HIV program. This full-time position, based in Fairfax, Virginia offers a hybrid remote/office work schedule. The Specialist will be responsible for forecasting, controlling, and reporting project costs, including developing variance analysis, trending reports, and expenditure tracking. This role involves reviewing project costs, calculating future expenditures based on various factors such as labor, material prices, and risk analysis. Under general supervision, the Specialist will apply standard project control concepts while developing advanced skills in cost management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for effectively reporting findings and supporting project financial decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities
Forecast, control, and report on project costs, ensuring accurate tracking and management of financial data.
Develop and provide variance analysis, trending reports, and expenditure tracking to assess project performance and cost control.
Review project costs by category, including labor, materials, subcontracting, wage rates, and risk factors, to ensure projects stay within budget.
Calculate future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, and other factors to anticipate potential financial challenges.
Assist in the preparation of project completion reports, highlighting cost performance and forecasting future budget needs.
Apply standard project control concepts and procedures to solve cost-related challenges while developing advanced skills in cost management.
Work under general supervision, performing assignments that require knowledge of project controls and cost control best practices.
Assist senior cost control team members in maintaining accurate financial records and providing cost performance recommendations.
Contribute to the development of cost control strategies to support project objectives and ensure financial compliance.
Communicate financial findings clearly through written reports and presentations for internal teams and leadership.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
At least 2 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or project management, with an understanding of project controls and budgeting.
Strong knowledge of labor productivity analysis, material price fluctuations, subcontracting, and wage rates.
Proficient in financial reporting and the use of project control software or cost management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cost control systems and financial management tools, particularly in government contracting or large-scale programs.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or Cost Engineering (e.g., AACE certification).
