What does a successful DB2 Database Administrator do?
As a DB2 Database Administrator at Fiserv, you will be a crucial member of our technology team, ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our DB2 database environments. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems that support our critical applications. Your expertise will help drive operational efficiency and data integrity across the organization.
What you will do:
- Manage and maintain DB2 databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
- Design and implement database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.
- Monitor database systems and proactively identify performance issues, resolving them in a timely manner.
- Perform database tuning and optimization to enhance performance.
- Implement and manage database security, including roles, permissions, and encryption.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in DB2 database administration.
- 6+ years of experience in database security management.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
What would be great to have:
- 6+ years of experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
- 6+ years of experience in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Recognized certifications in database administration or DB2.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
