About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Strategist. In this position you will provide coverage of the domestic equity markets, including producing fundamentally-based sector content around index targets, sector weightings, bottoms-up and top-down earnings analysis, positioning insights, etc. Primary responsibilities will also include consistent collaboration with the fundamental equity research team, the Economics research team, and all relevant internal partners in the production of investment insights. Critical to the role will be communicating research findings to both internal stakeholders and our external client base via consistent dialogue and live meetings. The strategist will need to build strong relationships not only with Equity Research colleagues, but also with Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, Wealth Management, and others.

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. The successful candidate will:
- Conduct and author equity strategy research around both macroeconomic and industry-specific themes, trends, etc.
- Create and maintain bottoms-up and top-down earnings models for relevant equity indices
- Develop and maintain forecasts for relevant equity indices, including sector weightings
- Collaborate with fundamental equity research teams in order to help drive more insightful sector and company-specific content across the department
- Communicate research conclusions with internal and external constituents
- Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
Required Qualifications:- 6+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:- BS/BA or higher
- 7+ years direct experience as an Equity Strategist on either buy or sell side
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge and understanding of macroeconomic data and market conditions
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
- Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Job Expectations:- Up to 10% travel
