What does a successful Transactional Lawyer do?We are seeking an experienced transactional lawyer to help draft and negotiate our customer contracts in support of Fiserv’s Embedded Finance business. The core of this business is facilitating Fiserv’s large corporate clients in offering payment services to their customers and stakeholders. This is a good position for someone who aspires to work with a cutting-edge business and who actively enjoys structuring complex relationships. We do not require that you have experience in payments. If you have a strong background drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, we can teach you about this business. Collaboration with senior business and sales executives will be vital in this role.
What you will do:
- Prepare and negotiate commercial agreements directly with business unit representatives.
- Advise business partners on legal, contractual, and risk matters affecting their business unit or product set.
- Collaborate with product teams to commercialize new products and functionality.
- Provide consultation and legal advice on strategic initiatives, technology projects, and dispute resolution.
- Interact effectively with corporate specialists regarding credit, risk, compliance, finance, audit, tax, regulatory, privacy, and technology matters impacting the Embedded Finance business unit.
- Develop and maintain standard contracts and other legal documentation.
What you will need to have:
- JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice, with the ability to become licensed as in-house counsel to practice in the applicable state and/or equivalent military experience.
- In good standing with the State Bar with no disciplinary record.
- Experience as a transactional lawyer.
- 6+ years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience in providing regulatory advice.
What would be great to have:
- Experience interacting with senior management.
- Experience handling data use and privacy matters.
- Experience in technical contract negotiation.
- 7+ years of experience with financial services and technology contracts.
- Knowledge of financial services laws and network requirements (e.g., Reg E, BSA/AML, money transmission, Nacha rules, etc.).

- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

- This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
