Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated OPS Application Engineer to join our IT Application Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams to build scalable systems, automate operational tasks, and respond to incidents with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Premier Core Application and Operations Support
- Unisys and iSeries/ AS400 environment expertise
- Monitoring & Observability: Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and telemetry systems to ensure proactive incident detection and resolution.
- Incident Management: Lead and participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
- Automation & Tooling: Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze system performance and usage trends to forecast and plan for future growth.
- Collaboration: Partner with development and infrastructure teams to ensure applications are designed with reliability and operability in mind.
- Change Management: Support safe and efficient deployment of application changes through CI/CD pipelines and change control processes.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 3+ Premier Core DevOps, or IT Operations roles.
- Strong experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, ExtraHop, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise change management processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
