About your role:
In this role you will be a leader in designing, implementing, and maintaining Fiserv's complex systems infrastructure. Your extensive expertise will ensure the highest levels of efficiency and reliability for our systems, supporting the operational needs of our clients. You will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals dedicated to innovation and excellence in systems engineering.
What you'll do:
Lead the design and implementation of advanced systems infrastructure and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability to meet business needs.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues and manage and oversee system upgrades and enhancements.
Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company policies.
Investigate performance slowdowns or contentions on the LPARs.
Work with performance tools available (SYSVIEW, MAINVIEW, RMF, RMF III) and modify WLM parameters for improvement or correction.
Be familiar with CICS, MQ and DB2 components. Identify bottlenecks or chokeholds on throughput.
Be available for level 2 or 3 performance escalations (including off-hour work).
Experience you'll need to have:
10+ years of experience in mainframe systems engineering.
4+ years of experience with system design and implementation.
4+ years of experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
4+ years of experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
Understand SAS, Assembler, Rexx, Python or JAVA languages.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Be familiar with VSAM RLS, ICF RLS, and Perf Kit for zOCP and Parallel SYSPLEX configurations.
Understand the deployment of the IBM engines (GP, ICF, IFL, ziiP, CBUs).
