We are looking for a Program Manager to join our team at Caterpillar (in Griffin, GA). This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within Large Electric Power (LEP) Product Group.
As part of the Large Electric Power Product Group, the Solutions Project Management team is the de-facto champion for each and every customer/dealer order, providing leadership to project team(s) in the planning and execution of all the activities required to deliver a successful project, on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Central to the role is establishing and managing the relationship interfaces between the project team, our dealers, and their customers.
What you will do
As the Program Manager, you will focus on providing leadership to the project team(s) executing all the project activities related to the fiscal reporting, engineering, procurement, purchasing, logistics, quality, EHSS, site technical assistance and commissioning of LEP Solutions projects. You will seek to:
- Understand the project technical and commercial requirements, local conditions, statutory requirements.
- Develop project schedule, project costing, and manage document control
- Collaborate with our dealers in managing customer change orders, facilitating the project team in making sound technical and commercial assessments and decisions.
- Develop the risk identification and risk mitigation strategies, jointly working with team members and dealers on projects.
- Assist the dealer project team in the development and execution of their project execution strategy, tactics, and transactional activities.
- Practice and manage regular communications and reporting with team members, dealers, customers, and management.
- Leverage functional area leaders and team members alike to solve business problems to ensure project objectives and requirements are met. Document and resolve issues using local or regional project resources and working relationships where possible, holding project team members responsible to make the project successful.
- Support the manufacturing facility quality engineer and dealer site team in closing project site ‘punch list’ items
This role will also provide regional portfolio leadership within the department, promoting and driving continuous improvement of project management processes through the development of collaborative relationships amongst the Power Solutions work group, with customers, suppliers, and other cross functional groups.
What you have:
Project Management - Level Extensive Experience:
- Ability to plan, organise, monitor, and control construction and/or industrial projects, ensuring efficient utilisation of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Experience of presenting technical and commercial proposals & trade-offs to stakeholder groups.
- Previous advanced project/program management experience, including the use of MS Project or similar project management software
- Knowledge of power system product & applications would be beneficial.
Relationship Management - Level Extensive Experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels both inside and outside the department, together with a strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated leadership potential, with clear evidence of accountability and acting with a sense of urgency.
Flexibility and Adaptability - Level Extensive Experience:
- Leverages prior experience as a help towards handling changing situations.

- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritising and time allocation.
- Works with or leads others to re-prioritise work and reschedule commitments as necessary.
Education
- An accredited Engineering or Business Management degree or closely related technical qualification. For those with lesser qualifications, considerably more job-related experience.

- Up to 50% travel to customer sites across EMEA.
- Position requires 5 days in office work schedule

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
