Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Environmental & Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Advanced Planning Electrical Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to serve in a Planning capacity to lead, manage, and develop infrastructure project plans. Team member will coordinate support from third party vendors, E&F team members, other PE engineers, and stakeholder departments to develop project estimates, schedules, headcount and funding strategies. After the planning stage is complete, team member will support our Project Implementation Team as they carry out the planned project.
Reporting to the Engineer Manager, the team member in this role also provides subject matter expertise in electrical power system engineering and design, codes and standards, and capacity planning for all shops and sites across North America, Canada and Mexico.
What you’ll be doing
Provide Toyota leadership in the planning and project development for new construction and renovation projects across North America, including:
Lead and coach a team of engineers with their ongoing project study’s and/or investigations with Toyota’s best practices in mind (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Cost)
Provide support to Toyota’ NA business in areas of engineering, design and pre-construction planning following Facility Standards (NAFS)
Benchmark previous projects to understand current Scope, Cost and Schedule
Prepare technical data for budget development up to $100M for industrial buildings, power system renewals, green power and micro-grid plants, lighting, etc.
Develop a team plan for assigned projects and tasks to ensure timely execution with quality built in.
Support team in daily activities with NAFS Standards development, clarification and/or on-site support
Lead multiple stakeholders (including various Toyota teams, Vendors and professional services) through project activities to achieve internal targets
Work with Toyota stakeholders to develop project criteria, scope, estimate and project schedules
Ensure compliance with related local, state, national codes, facility operations and Toyota standards
Manage up to 10-15 project plans across NA at any one time.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or higher) or 10 years equivalent work experience
5 years or more of direct work experience in industrial power systems engineering or equivalent with low medium and high voltages
Experience with project planning including estimating, scheduling and scope/proposal development
Intermediate skill level with: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook)
Experience in AutoCAD, Revit or other design software, and with BluBeam, or other PDF editing software.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% when required
Willingness and ability to work up to 25% overtime when required
Added bonus if you have
Professional Engineering License (PE)
OSHA 10 or other certifications
TMNA PE vehicle engineering/planning experience
Construction Project Management experience
Certified Energy Manager or similar qualifications
