Job Summary
This position will join the existing tax compliance and reporting team in preparation, review and monitoring of tax compliance and reporting obligations in respect of the non-US operations of NBCUniversal International, covering 150+ entities in over 30 territories internationally.
Job Description
Key Position Responsibilities
Reporting:
▪Preparation/review of quarterly and annual US GAAP taxaccounting (provisions/true ups)
▪Prepare/maintain tax calculation templates, FIN48 calculations and SOX404 documentation
▪Monitor variances between the tax provision and tax return for international businesses
▪Liaise with finance contacts and external service providers
▪Review and update business models (forecast financial models)
▪Preparation/analysis of group summaries by business line and by territory
▪Review of intercompany royalty calculations
▪Preparation ofCountry-by-Countryreporting data
Compliance:
▪Assisting withtheUKtax complianceprocess for 50+ entities, includingpreparation/reviewofUK GAAP taxprovisionsand UK tax returns
▪Allocation ofUKgroup losses and calculation of quarterlyinstallmentpayments
▪Review and understanding of differences between US and UK GAAP
▪Dealing with HMRCcorrespondence, notices, etc. and following up as appropriate
▪Coordinationand reviewof the outsourcedinternationaltax compliance in respect of 100+ entities worldwide
▪Coordination of BEPS compliance including Country by Country reporting notifications
▪Coordination and review of Creative Industries tax credit claims
▪Management of compliance issues in respect of mobile employees
▪Populating and monitoring the entity obligation tracking tooland internal tax return library
▪Withholding Tax administration - preparation of clearance forms and request of residency certifications
▪Dispute resolution in respect of customer WHT deductions
General:
▪Ad-hoc project, such as:-
oassistance with tax audits
otransfer pricing implementation
oentity eliminations&group structuring
odividend and repatriation planning
oR&D tax credits
ofilm tax credits
oproperty transactions
ocontract reviews
oPillar II requirements
▪Assistin development of electronic tools to maximize efficiencies in tax processes
▪Supporting the wider tax team as appropriate in areas commensurate with experience
Required skills/knowledge and qualifications
Essential:
▪Aminimum of5-7years’post-qualification corporate tax experience, includingsignificantcorporate tax accounting experience.
▪Strong corporate tax compliance background with experience of largeUKand multinational groupsand use of tax return preparation software
▪Awareness of International tax issues
▪Professional qualification in accounting(ACA or equivalent).
▪Strongexcelskills – ability to manage and manipulate high volumes of data is an essential requirement for this role.
▪Strong communication skills, especially in communicating tax concepts to a non-tax audience and finance teams in overseas territories.
Desired:
▪Commercial experience in the Entertainment/Media sector
▪Knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting
▪Knowledge of SAP Financial Accounting
▪Knowledge of OneSource Tax Compliance
▪Big 4 background
▪Experience of SOXwill be considered a plus
