Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Job Summary
The Laborer is responsible for the collection, segregation, documentation, and proper disposal of non-hazardous solid waste in accordance with US government and/or local regulations, as well as company policies. Managing the full composting cycle—from preparing the compost area and sorting wood for chipping, to building and maintaining compost heaps, and operating essential machinery.This role ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant waste handling processes to support sustainability goals and operational excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collect, sort, and manage non-hazardous solid waste generated from various departments or operations (e.g., packaging, scrap materials, office waste).
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and documentation of waste materials.
Monitor waste bins and collection areas to ensure cleanliness, compliance, and timely pick-up.
Work with recycling team and coordinate scheduled pickups.
Maintain detailed records of waste types, volumes, and disposal methods for reporting and compliance.
Conduct routine inspections of waste storage areas to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
Assist in identifying opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and reuse.
Follow all company safety procedures and participate in required training.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
High School Diploma
1–2 years of experience in waste management, environmental services, or a related field preferred.
Experience operating agricultural or industrial machinery (e.g., JD tractor, screener, mixing machine).
Familiarity with composting processes and organic waste handling.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, dusty, noisy).
Must have a valid vehicle driver’s license and maintain its validity for the duration of employment
Fluency in Albanian and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Kosovo.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Prior experience in a composting facility or waste management operation.
Knowledge of Gore-Tex cover systems and compost monitoring tools.
Certification in machinery operation or environmental management.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain composting equipment.
Knowledge of local and federal waste regulations (EPA, OSHA)
