The JETS II contract is seeking a
Spaceflight Hardware Task Order Manager to support the JETS II contract at NASA's Johnson Space Center. This role serves as the primary interface with NASA customers for assigned task orders and is responsible for ensuring successful execution across technical, schedule, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting human spaceflight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for NASA customers on assigned task orders
- Manage task order performance, including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables
- Track budgets, labor hours, and support financial reporting requirements
- Define and update task order scope in collaboration with NASA throughout the fiscal year
- Coordinate with project managers and leads to anticipate and manage changes in work or charges
- Provide monthly variance reports and detailed financial summaries to NASA stakeholders
- Develop and tailor reporting formats to meet specific customer needs
- Oversee staffing, onboarding, and workforce alignment in coordination with leadership
- Conduct regular project reviews covering cost, schedule, risk, and deliverables
- Maintain active risk management across all assigned projects
- Support Basis of Estimate (BOE) development for new work proposals
- Ensure compliance with contractual, audit, safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate with technical leads, functional managers, and subcontractors for effective execution
- Prepare, present and deliver monthly status reports and performance metrics to NASA and contract stakeholders

- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience
- Experience in aerospace, engineering services, or government contracting
- 5+ years of project, program, or task order management experience
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and technical performance
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience working with senior managers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (MS Office Suite, MS Project, etc.)
- Must be able to support onsite at NASA/JSC and offsite in person.
Requisition Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Project Management (with relevant experience)
- Experience supporting NASA or similar government task order environments
- Prior leadership experience in staff management and customer engagement
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Familiarity with Smartsheet and workflow automation tools

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
