Title: ADGE Mechanical Drafting Checker (On-Site)
Department Overview:
The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.
We are currently seeking a motivated and driven Mechanical Drafting Checker to join our MCAD Team within our Ground Equipment Design Department. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, mechanical hardware design experience, system integration skills, and a strong background in program execution and production support. As a key contributor on a mechanical or cross-functional engineering team, you will be responsible for the checking of redlines and drafting component and assembly modeling, documentation, design changes, and release processes.

What You Will Do, but are not limited to:
Perform mechanical design checks, and checking of documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
Lead small mechanical or cross functional engineering team as the technical focal point within an integrated product team environment.
Support the factory and suppliers with product integration domestically.
Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment.
Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Understand Raytheon Process and Procedures to be applied to our drawing release processes.
Qualifications You Must Have
4+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with minimum 3 years designing and developing mechanical equipment.
Extensive background in mechanical design, development, material selection, or manufacturing processes
Experience with CAD design tools or associated product data management tools.
Experience in the tools of CREO, AutoCAD, and Raster
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in the tools of Mentor, Inventor, Firmware, and Solidworks
Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100
ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience
Experience with Windchill PDM or similar product data management tool
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Demonstrated team player, self-driven leader with excellent collaboration skills
Required Education (including Major):
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
