The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Responsibilities
As part of the team, you will:
The off-shift COMET Security Manager oversees our organization's security operations, ensuring the safety of our assets, personnel, and property.
You will develop and implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, and manage a team of security personnel.
You will monitor security access control protocols and procedures, coordinate with Kennedy Space Center security during incidents, and manage a team of access control monitors controlling access to various facilities at the Kennedy Space Center.
Additionally, you will work with various other departments making sure the security team operations are coordinated and ready to support flight hardware processing.
We seek a candidate with strong leadership and management skills, and excellent communication abilities.
You will need the ability to evaluate complex situations, identify potential solutions, and a commitment to ethical judgment and conflict resolution.
Being proactive, meticulous, and fostering a culture of safety and preparedness is crucial for this role.
Job Requirements
This position is for an off-shift Group Manager for Security.
BA or BS degree in an area of specialty and seven (7) years relevant security experience.
Experience with establishing and maintaining schedules for a group to be consistent with budgetary and time constraints.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels including senior management.
Proven leadership qualities.
