Job Summary
The Vice President of Product Strategy and Marketing for the Consumer Wi‑Fi Portfolio owns the product strategy, positioning, go-to-market orchestration, and commercial performance of the company’s consumer Wi-Fi solutions, spanning Core and Value-Added Wi-Fi Services, Network Propositions, and Wi‑Fi devices/hardware ecosystem and roadmap.
This leader translates consumer needs into compelling propositions by delivering a clear, differentiated promise around speed, coverage, reliability, security, and simplicity. The VP will also drive launch excellence, subscription/service attach, and portfolio growth while shaping product strategy through market insight and strong cross-functional leadership.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Wi-Fi Portfolio Strategy, Positioning & Consumer Narrative
- Own the consumer Wi‑Fi portfolio story (portfolio, solution, product feature): what we sell, who it’s for, and why we win
- Define tiered consumer propositions (ex: Good, Better, Best) aligned to major consumer needs:
- Whole-home coverage & roaming
- Fast and consistent performance (real-world speed, low latency)
- Reliability (self-healing, stability, reduced drop-offs)
- Security & privacy (network protection, device controls)
- Simplicity (fast setup, easy management, great UX)
- Build and maintain a differentiated, defensible competitive positioning and messaging architecture across device families and service tiers
Wi-Fi Value‑Added Services: Monetization, Attach & Retention
- Own GTM for consumer services and subscriptions attached to Wi‑Fi devices, such as:
- Advanced security and threat protection
- Parental controls and family safety features
- QoE optimization, device prioritization, gamer/low-latency modes
- Premium support, warranty/device protection, managed Wi‑Fi options
- Insights/analytics for network and device usage
- Define pricing and packaging (freemium, trials, bundles, subscription tiers, seasonal promos) with clear upgrade paths and value gates.
- Drive subscription performance in partnership with Growth:
- Trial-to-paid conversion, attach rate, renewal/retention, churn reduction
- In-app merchandising strategy and lifecycle communications (email/push/in-app)
Consumer Network Proposition: Performance You Can Explain and Prove
- Develop Network Proposition strategy in partnership with Network Engineering teams
- Build a Product and GTM strategy for Network Expansion
- Own consumer-friendly performance and reliability claims and ensure they are:
- Understandable (benefits-first) and consistent globally
- Defensible (test methodology, substantiation, legal review)
- Translated into clear merchandising language for packaging and e-commerce
- Establish proof points and assets: demos, comparisons, speed/coverage explainers, “why it matters” stories for streaming, gaming, WFH, smart homes, and multi-device families
Device Propositions: Wi-Fi Hardware, Ecosystem and Roadmap
- Lead GTM strategy for consumer devices, including (as applicable):
- Routers/gateways, mesh systems, extenders, access points
- Premium performance tiers (e.g., multi-gig, tri-band/quad-band), simplified entry tiers
- Translate technical capabilities into consumer outcomes and proof points
What Success Looks Like
- A cohesive portfolio strategy that improves conversion, share, and competitive win rate
- High-quality launches that drive sell-through, strong customer sentiment, and lower return rates
- Increased service attach, stronger trial-to-paid conversion, and improved retention
- Measurable gains in Wi-Fi pNPS engagement
