Exception Desk Coordinator (Entry-Level Secondary Analyst)
Compensation - $45-$50k Annually
Summary:
The Exception Desk Coordinator works closely with Sales, Sales Management, and Secondary Marketing to review, analyze, and decision pricing requests that fall below contractual pricing targets. This role supports accurate pricing execution, helps resolve discrepancies, and contributes to an efficient, customer-focused exception process.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze pricing requests that are outside standard or contractual pricing targets.
Investigate loan files to identify, document, and resolve pricing discrepancies and inaccuracies.
Approve pricing exceptions within established guidelines and tolerance levels.
Partner with Secondary management to communicate discrepancies, trends, and process issues in a proactive and logical manner.
Manage Exception Request mailboxes and call queues, ensuring timely and professional responses to internal stakeholders.
Provide excellent customer service to Sales, Sales Management, and other internal partners.
Escalate issues and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
Strong math and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Above-average computer skills; ability to learn new systems quickly.
Mortgage industry experience is not required but is beneficial.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Optimal Blue and Encompass.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Exposure to or experience with Tableau or similar reporting/BI tools.
