Account Executive: Owns customer engagement and sales pipeline activities while developing the skills needed to consistently identify, advance, and close opportunities. Learning StartGuides’ sales process, customer discovery, product positioning, and effective use of CRM, AI, and internal tools to support growth. Building foundational capabilities in professional communication, customer engagement, and strategic sales execution within the defense market.
Expectations:
This internship will expose Fellow to the following.
- Owns assigned customer accounts and pipeline activities from initial engagement through opportunity advancement, with support and structured review.
- Learns how to identify customer needs, qualify opportunities, and align StartGuides solutions to mission and operational requirements.
- Participates in customer meetings, demos, and engagements, developing confidence and clarity in presenting products and value propositions.
- Uses CRM and internal tools to track customer interactions, manage pipeline progression, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Begins to develop structured account plans, identifying growth opportunities within existing and new customers.
- Supports preparation of sales materials, briefings, and proposals using established templates and internal resources.
- Develops understanding of defense acquisition processes, contracting pathways, and customer decision dynamics.
- Begins to analyze customer feedback, sales data, and engagement patterns to identify trends and improve outcomes.
- Collaborates with product and delivery teams to understand product capabilities, limitations, and customer implementation considerations.
- Strengthens professional communication skills, including written correspondence, executive briefings, and in-person customer interaction.
- Builds consistency, initiative, and ownership over customer relationships and opportunity advancement.
- Develops ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with team sales goals and company priorities.
