Overview
Manages and executes the development and operation of the Threat Management Unit (TMU) program to support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of threats to Navy Federal employees, members, assets, and information. Applies intelligence analysis, insider threat methodologies, fraud indicators, behavioral analytics, and cyber‑adjacent threat intelligence to enable proactive risk identification and investigative support. Operates with moderate guidance, translates established objectives into operational plans and deliverables, and collaborates closely with Global Security, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Legal, Human Resources, and investigative teams to advance TMU capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage execution of assigned components of the Threat Management Unit program, translating program objectives into operational workflows and deliverables.
- Apply established threat assessment frameworks and analytic methodologies to correlate insider threat, fraud, behavioral, and cyber‑adjacent indicators.
- Provide advanced analytical and intelligence support to Global Security Investigations, Fraud, Insider Threat, and Workplace Violence teams through prioritized lead generation and risk insights.
- Support fusion activities related to executive protection by synthesizing physical and virtual threat intelligence for situational awareness.
- Coordinate closely with Information Security, Cybersecurity, Threat Intelligence, CAAT, Legal, Human Resources, and GSOC to support aligned threat response and investigative handoffs.
- Utilize cyber threat intelligence, analytics, and monitoring outputs to support early identification and escalation of emerging risks.
- Develop, document, and maintain TMU playbooks, analytic workflows, and standard operating procedures within assigned scope.
- Evaluate tools, technologies, and methodologies used for threat detection and analysis; recommend enhancements to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain external relationships with law enforcement and intelligence‑sharing partners to support information exchange and investigative context.
- Prepare threat assessments, intelligence summaries, metrics, and program updates for Global Security leadership.
- Track assigned performance metrics related to threat identification, investigative enablement, and program effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to peers or matrixed contributors supporting threat management activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Threat Management, Intelligence Analysis, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in threat management, intelligence analysis, insider threat, cyber‑adjacent investigations, or security operations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting insider threat investigations and intelligence‑driven security operations.
- Working knowledge of threat hunting, behavioral analysis, and cyber‑enabled threat vectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex assignments and operational initiatives with moderate guidance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high‑risk, or rapidly evolving threat environments.
- Proficiency with intelligence, investigative, and analytic platforms and standard business tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with CMMC or other regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Experience operating in a global or highly regulated financial services environment.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
