Amentum is seeking an Extra Heavy Duty Truck Driver for the North of Las Vegas area.
Purpose and Scope:
Must be able to drive and operate proficiently and safely a variety of extra heavy-duty equipment.
Essential Responsibilities/Other equipment required to learn and operate, if not already proficient on:
- Off road special equipment, transit mixer trucks with (3) or more axles or (10) cubic yards or more capacity.
- All water pulls/distributors from 1,500 to 10,000 gallons.
- Dump trucks (5) cubic yards and up, trash truck/compactors, porta-potty vacuum truck, sewer truck, bulker cement and fly ash trucks, waste sewage pump truck, anti-ice fluid distributor trucks, snow removal equipment such as; air-broom, ribbon blowers, sand distributors, and/or any other vehicle assigned to shop.
- Must be able to self-load various manlifts on tilt bed trailers.
- Will be responsible for securing loads with binders, straps, or chains. Must comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations.
- Must have proficient computer skills to include MS Office products and use computer-based time keeping programs.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Journeyman Level
- Asphalt oils/emulsions distributor truck, Boot Truck
- Transport trailers, 7 & 9 axle; Combination trailers, doubles
- CDL Class-A, with P endorsement for buses
- Hazardous endorsement (must have or acquire on own time/cost within 6 months)
Additional Mandatory Qualifications:
- OSHA-10, Construction Industry card, COL physical & medical card, CPR/First-Aid Card, must have computer skills to include MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- No rehires, unless approved by local HR/LR
- MUST be able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government Top-Secret security clearance and access to the work location
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must pass pre-hire drug screening and Fit-for-Duty physical,
- Must be able to work in a remote location with limited medical personnel and facilities
- Will need to bring: Social Security Card, original state issued birth certificate or Naturalization Certificate, and valid Driver’s license and certifications listed in Additional Mandatory Requirements.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential accident could exist or exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations and published company work rules. Individual will be required to execute temporary duty travel as required including but not limited to Target Maintenance and Mission Support exercises. Must be able to interact well with fellow employees. May be required to work different/varying shifts. Must be mentally and physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to unexploded ordinance. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
