As a Team Lead at Caterpillar Inc., you will assist the manager in leading team members, coordinating and delegating workflow and overseeing day to day operation of area; promoting cooperative team relationships, establishing and modifying priorities, gathering metrics, generating reports, overseeing work for multiple job classifications, etc. Occasionally performing various warehousing functions at a Caterpillar warehouse/distribution facility.
Special Announcement: It was recently announced that PSLD Lafayette operations will be moving many of their positions to the facility in Lebanon, IN over the next two years. These positions are included in the upcoming move.
The Maintenance Associate supports warehouse operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, material‑handling systems, and building infrastructure. This role reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager but may receive daily assignments from management or lead personnel. The position requires strong teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to perform duties outside standard tasks when operational needs arise.
Additional Information:
This role is for 1st Shift 6:30am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday
Located in Lafayette, IN (1627 Veterans Memorial Pkwy E, Lafayette, IN 47905)
Potential monthly attendance bonus of $200
Regular local travel required.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Machinery Maintenance
- Perform repair and replacement work on warehouse machinery, including baggers, banders, saws, conveyors, VRCs, air compressors, and related equipment.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all assigned warehouse systems to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
- Identify equipment issues, initiate repair requests, and coordinate with vendors or suppliers for specialized service needs.
Electrical, Mechanical & Facility Support
- Replace electrical fixtures, bulbs, and minor components; assist with basic electrical troubleshooting within defined safety parameters.
- Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Inspect building systems such as water control valves, fire extinguishers, safety equipment, and related facility alarms on a routine schedule.
Operational & Facility Upkeep
- Operate and maintain the floor scrubber (Zamboni or similar), ensuring the warehouse floor and equipment remain clean and compliant with safety standards.
- Build or repair crates, pallets, boxes, benches, and similar structures to support facility or customer needs.
- Perform painting tasks including racks, bins, columns, walls, and floor striping as required for safety or appearance.
General Support
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and support cross‑functional requests as needed.
- Perform duties outside the normal routine when necessary to support operational goals.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, work instructions, and blueprints.
- Experience with vehicle or equipment maintenance and basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical repair.
- Willingness to attend specialized maintenance training and maintain certification(s) required by federal or state regulations.
- Ability to work overtime or irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.
- Current driver's license required. This position will travel to multiple area facilities by way of a corporate vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in an industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.

Starting wage is $22.25/hour (additional night shift premium for off shifts). Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half (some may be mandatory).

Summary Pay Range:
$22.25 - $27.75
