Content Editor (Contract)

Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to end-to-end content design for features and workflows, including in-product guidance, error states, forms, and system messaging
- Partner with designers, product managers, researchers, and engineers to shape clear, user-centered solutions and influence product direction through content
- Audit existing experiences and propose data-informed improvements to terminology, clarity, and structure
- Contribute to content strategy by identifying patterns, gaps, and opportunities across the product
- Uphold UX writing standards, accessibility best practices, and voice and tone guidelines
- Draft and refine UX copy across the experience, balancing clarity, empathy, and business needs
- Review designs and prototypes, providing content-led feedback that improves usability and flow
- Participate in cross-functional check-ins to align on requirements, decisions, and tradeoffs
- Collaborate asynchronously with stakeholders, incorporating feedback while exercising strong content judgment
- Document decisions and patterns to support consistency across the product
Requirements
- Five to seven or more years of experience in content design, UX writing, or user-focused product writing for digital products
- Demonstrated ability to independently own content work from concept through release
- Three or more years of proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional product teams
- Three or more years of experience applying content standards, voice and tone guidelines, and accessibility best practices across complex experiences
- Experience working within complex or enterprise-scale products is preferred
- Experience partnering with research and using qualitative or quantitative insights to inform content decisions is preferred
- Experience contributing to or defining voice and tone systems is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Communications, UX, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Portfolio demonstrating strong UX fundamentals, clear problem-solving, and impact, with specific role and contributions detailed for each project

Additional Details
- Location: Remote
- Duration: 3 months
- Pay Range*: $41 - $46.50 per hour
- Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
- Job Status: Non-Exempt
