Job Title
Advisor, Infrastructure Engineering
Senior Business Analyst
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to help our Cloud Product Owner and delivery teams ensure product ownership activities are executed with excellence—from upfront discovery and analysis through backlog refinement and delivery support. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution to translate business goals into prioritized features and user stories that deliver measurable outcomes.
What does a successful Senior Business Analyst do at Fiserv?
You will work closely with Product Owners, SMEs, and business stakeholders to clarify vision, define value, and build a well-refined backlog that keeps teams delivering at a sustainable pace. As a leader on the team, you will drive alignment between strategy and day-to-day execution, facilitate effective working sessions, and help teams navigate ambiguity to deliver the most valuable outcomes.
What you will do:
- Partner with the Cloud Product Owner, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand business needs and clearly communicate product vision.
- Conduct upfront research and analysis to ensure the team has the context needed for productive story writing and refinement.
- Distill business value, goals, and end-user problems into prioritized features, epics, and user stories.
- Identify and document story dependencies to support sequencing, refinement, and prioritization.
- Establish and manage a regular cadence for story definition, story writing, story review, and story prioritization to maintain a healthy backlog.
- Support story mapping and feature/story mapping to guide product strategy decisions, release planning, and prioritization.
- Help define what “business value” means for the product and enable consistent value-based prioritization.
- Partner with the Product Owner to identify business goals and create/maintain product strategy and roadmaps aligned to scope from vision to user story.
- Drive alignment between strategic objectives and tactical delivery work; help the team visualize and validate how work supports outcomes.
- Create analysis artifacts such as process maps, workflow/system flows, and gap analyses; identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Facilitate large and/or distributed working sessions and stakeholder meetings, including remote sessions across locations.
- Lead internal initiatives that strengthen the Product Ownership Practice and elevate team consistency and performance.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 6+ years of experience as a member of Agile software delivery teams.
- 6+ years of experience working directly with business stakeholders.
- 6+ years of experience performing Business Analysis responsibilities.
- Practical experience defining and articulating product vision, goals, end-user problems, product strategy, and product roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to interview stakeholders, SMEs, and users and translate needs into appropriate business analysis artifacts.
- Strong outcome-based mindset with experience defining value and aligning delivery to measurable goals.
- Ability to create process maps, map workflows/system flows, and identify process improvements.
- Strong Agile knowledge, including story mapping, user story writing, acceptance criteria, and backlog refinement practices.
- Experience conducting and documenting gap analyses.
- Demonstrated meeting facilitation skills, including leading sessions of 20+ participants.
- Strong consulting skills: proactive, self-organizing, self-motivated, and effective in ambiguity.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and healthy conflict resolution skills.
What would be great to have:
- Experience supporting cloud platform products or technical delivery teams.
- Experience helping define and operationalize product ownership standards and practices across multiple teams.
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities while maintaining clarity on outcomes.
Working conditions:
- Ability to travel (up to 25%) if needed.
