Job Summary
The Operations Automation Specialist supports and leads the deployment, optimization, and sustainment of robotic and automated manufacturing systems within a high‑volume industrial environment. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and IT teams to ensure automation solutions improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. The position contributes technical expertise in programming, troubleshooting, and application support while leading or supporting automation projects aligned with plant objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, debugging and troubleshooting robotic and automated systems (PLC); supporting or leading efforts to deploy automated systems.
- Partnering with support teams on application / software troubleshooting.
- Trains end users and operations support teams on the automated system applications.
Education / Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Engineering.
- Experience with robotic programming (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar).
- Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar).
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, or smart factory technologies.
- Manufacturing experience within automotive, heavy equipment, or high‑volume production environments.
- Ability to support multi‑shift operations and on‑floor troubleshooting.
- English proficiency for technical documentation and cross‑site collaboration.
Skills & Competencies
- Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
- Industrial Automation/Automatic Control: Knowledge of various industrial automatic control systems, processes and methodologies in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar), ability to design, implement and maintain automatic production systems/processes to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as minimize human intervention.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
- Robotics/Computer Controlled Machinery: Knowledge of robotics technologies and computer controlled machinery; ability to implement and operate robotics and computer controlled machinery in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
Additional information:
- This position will be in Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon
- This position is five-days a week subject to changes and willingness to work sporadically on weekends.
- Requires working weekends, based on business continuity needs.
