Roles & Responsibilities: - Responsible for the design and development of mechanical subsystems and assemblies that belongs to the master BOM of the complete system according to fit, form and functional requirements.
- Responsible for driving the design starting from the scoping stage thru’ conceptual development, detailed design, mfg. drawing release and testing stages taking DFM, DFA, Design for Reliability into consideration
- Innovative mind set, ability to come up with multiple feasible solutions for the given high value problem.Responsible for continuous improvement - Coordinate with cross regional teams to identify and record the difficulties faced. Troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems of moderate to complex difficultly, perform RCA and drive solutions under general supervision.
- Work with cross functional teams for extended design role for simulation requirements. Able to interpret simulation data and provide valuable solutions for further optimizations.
- Generate related production drawings and BOM list for product release. Prepare test plans for components as and when needed. Participate in assembly build support and guide field engineers for the right approach. Travel to customer place would be necessary during builds for short duration. No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to relatively new team members.
Must have Skills: - Requires a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in mechanical design that involves static structures, (and /or) dynamic parts or assemblies, (and /or) usage of pneumatic & hydraulic elements. Experience in mechanical system design with sensing, motors and electronics application, theory, and design. Experience with design modifications, ECN, System integrations, Sustenance Projects.
- Requires proficiency in selection of materials and OEM components for functional requirement and adopt engineering principles and technologies during equipment/ machine constructions. Working knowledge of Detail Drawings using geometric dimensioning and part tolerances a plus. Basic working knowledge of stage gate process along with project-related testing and documentation such as Product Specification, DFMEA, DVP&R, MTBF, CE mark etc. preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing engineering principles. Requires working knowledge of Solid works and Catia design software, both 2-D and 3-D. Requires strong skills in product technology, problem solving, and communication skills. Requires experience of engineering change managements, analyze and trouble shoot to problems occurred.
- Results and detail oriented, solution driven with project deadlines in mind. High energy, strong interpersonal skills, prefers to work in team entrepreneurial environment. Passion for hands-on involvement with strong initiative and exceed project goals. Knowledgeable on machine design and Pneumatic will be an added advantage. Project management skills are added advantage. Prior experience in IP generation is an added advantage. Excellent problem definition and solving techniques as well as good organization and documentation abilities plus ability to make decisions and problem solve based on data. Adapts to customer and market trend changes with desire to learn new technology and methods. Good communication skillsincluding facilitating meetings, verbal, and written skills. Ability to work in multi-cultural virtual teams maintaining significant involvement and team interaction. Able to execute tasks independently with daily or weekly direction from manager.
