Data Scientist (Contract)

Summary
This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive marketing effectiveness for one of the world's most beloved gaming franchises through data-driven insights and strategic analysis. Working within the data organization, you will be responsible for measuring and optimizing player acquisition, reactivation, and long-term value across diverse marketing channels. This role requires a unique blend of analytical expertise and marketing acumen to connect upstream marketing investments with downstream player engagement and monetization outcomes. You will serve as a critical partner to Growth Marketing and Finance teams, building measurement frameworks that inform budget decisions and scale marketing effectiveness. The ideal candidate will excel at translating complex attribution results into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders while maintaining analytical rigor throughout the process.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with Marketing, Finance, and cross-functional business teams to understand and analyze digital marketing campaigns, including defining KPIs and creating comprehensive measurement plans
- Own campaign post-mortems and attribution modeling to connect marketing spend and impressions to player engagement and monetization outcomes
- Conduct marketing funnel analysis to identify optimization opportunities and inform strategic budget allocation decisions
- Build segmentation frameworks and establish KPI foundations for performance marketing initiatives
- Evaluate and implement new campaign experimentation opportunities that enhance marketing measurement capabilities
- Collaborate with analytics engineers to develop automations and reporting solutions that scale insights delivery
- Present data-driven insights to senior management and stakeholders, driving conversations that influence strategic decisions
- Design and implement measurement frameworks that support long-term marketing effectiveness
- Work with technical and client teams to determine data requirements and implement best practices for data manipulation, storage, and analysis strategies
- Modify and maintain databases and database management systems to support evolving analytical needs
Requirements
- 8-10 years of applicable experience in data science or analytics roles
- Demonstrated history of using data to influence stakeholder decisions and drive business outcomes
- Previous experience partnering with Marketing and Finance teams on data-driven initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
- Marketing analytics expertise with demonstrated experience in campaign measurement and performance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation
- Strong stakeholder engagement abilities, including presenting insights and influencing decision-making
- Experience with attribution modeling and marketing funnel analysis
- Knowledge of database technologies and ETL processes
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language
- Databricks experience strongly preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to translate complex analytical findings for non-technical audiences
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Marketing intuition combined with analytical rigor

- Duration: 2 months
- Pay Range*: $71.50 - $81 per hour
- Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
- Job Status: Non-Exempt
