Amentum is seeking a Traffic Clerk to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Traffic Clerk will schedule, ship, and receive incoming and outgoing materials for the Hawthorne Army Depot. As a Traffic Clerk, you will prepare and maintain all required documentation associated with munition shipments.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.
Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
Work near and or in an explosive/ammunition demilitarization facility.
Schedules, ships, and receives incoming and outgoing materials for the Hawthorne Army Depot. Ensures proper conveyances are ordered for each load and can effectively complete all traffic department duties. Assist other Traffic personnel as needed.
Prepares incoming shipment document packages and receipts. Serve as an official weigh master for all commercial vehicles.
Maintains custodial seal records for incoming and outgoing shipments. Follows Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials as well as all state and federal regulations.
Maintains records of shipments received at HWAD. Reviews and verifies receiving documents. Establishes transportation unit for applicable incoming shipments. Reports received shipments to consignee, and all concerned.
Maintains high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; treat all individuals fairly and with respect. Reports potential or known safety or environmental hazards to the appropriate dept. or personnel.
Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty, as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
1-3 years' experience with general shipping and receiving functions.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
Be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
Data and numerical entry proficiency with a high level of accuracy.
Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-orientated work.
Willing and able to be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record and willing to work overtime.
Work in a procedurally, environmental and safety compliant environment.
Willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.
Must satisfactorily complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations required by AMC Regulation 350-4 within 90 days of hire. Maintaining this certification is a condition of continued employment.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass an MVR check with a clean record.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

This position falls under the local Union and comes with; medical, vision, dental, STD and life insurance, PTO–120 hours per year, accrued at 4.62 hours per pay period, Sick leave–One (1) hour of accrual for every thirty (30) hours worked, Paid Holidays-Eleven (11) per calendar year, 401K, and an employee stock option plan.
