Job Summary and Qualifications
The AVP, Academic Affairs provides division-level leadership for academic nursing partnerships, student clinical experiences, new graduate recruitment, residency integration, and nursing excellence initiatives. In partnership with the Market Chief Nursing Executive, facility nursing leaders, academic partners, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, professional practice leaders, and corporate stakeholders, this role builds and executes a consistent division strategy that strengthens the nursing workforce pipeline, improves student-to-hire conversion, enhances the new graduate experience, increases first-year RN retention, and advances evidence-based practice and professional development across the division.
What qualifications you will need:
Required Education: Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or a related field.
Required Experience: Five or more years of progressive healthcare, nursing leadership, clinical operations, education, or management experience.
Preferred Experience: Three or more years of relevant program management or project management experience focused on clinical operations, professional development, academic partnerships, or nursing education. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed, multi-facility healthcare environment. Experience with new graduate nurse residency programs, Dedicated Education Units, student placement, preceptor development, nursing school faculty or leadership, or workforce pipeline strategy.
Preferred Licenses, Certifications, Trainings:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice, or compact multistate license, in accordance with applicable law and regulation.
- National nursing leadership, nursing professional development, or healthcare leadership certification, such as NEA-BC, CENP, NPD-BC, or equivalent.
- Training or demonstrated competency in project management, change management, data analytics, or process improvement.
Required Travel: Ability to travel up to 40% to 50% to support division and facility needs.
