Position Overview
DEFTEC is a seeking a motivated Human Resources Support Intern who will provide comprehensive support to our HR Department/HR Generalist. This role is offered through a structured SkillBridge internship focused on learning core HR functions, systems, and processes. Interns will gain hands-on experience with platforms like iSolved and Paycom, assist with audits, recruiting, and social media, and have the opportunity to pursue HR certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in facilitating onboarding and orientation programs for new hires to ensure smooth integration.
- Conduct personnel vetting for new hires/candidates.
- Assist in administering HR policies, benefits, leave, and compliance programs in accordance with federal and state laws.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and compliance documentation.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, performance, and employee relations.
- Calendar coordination/meeting management.
- Additional tasking may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- SharePoint administration
- Calendar management
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Excellent communication and writing/editing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HRIS
- Familiarity with Adobe Pro/Creative Suite
- Familiarity with Canva
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
