Job Summary and Qualifications
Under supervision of Lead Pastoral Care/Staff Chaplain, the Chaplain-PRN is responsible for working primarily in an On-Call capacity as a representative of the Department of Pastoral Care, to provide Spiritual Care and support to patients and families especially in times of crisis, grief and loss. This position requires a strong sense of pastoral identity and an ability to minister ecumenically in an interdisciplinary setting, providing pastoral care in terms of the spirituality of the receiver.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree from an accredited college
- Master's of Divinity or equivalent preferred
- At least 2 units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education, CPE (CPSP, CPEI or ACPE) or equivalent in the field of mental health, psychology and counseling, etc. preferred
- Previous experience working as a pastoral caregiver in a healthcare setting or equivalent clinical experience
- Previous experience in an acute care environment, hospital/healthcare facility
- Ordination/endorsement from denomination or faith community for professional ministry
