Diego Garcia: Fire Sprinkler and Suppression Systems Technician (NICET III Certified) – Contingency

Diego Garcia is a remote, tropical island in the Indian Ocean with a Naval Support Facility that serves as the base of operations, maintenance and logistical support for operational forces forward deployed to the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf areas. KBR provides a wealth of services to keep the base running and mission ready.
The Fire Sprinkler and Suppression Systems Technician will:
- Inspect, service, maintain and repair all facets of the Fire Sprinkler and Fire Suppression Systems.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire suppression equipment, e.g., wet dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, wet chemical systems and carbon dioxide systems.
- Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Read, interpret, and apply system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
- Work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Requires at least 5 years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry.
- Must have experience in Fire Sprinkler Field as Pipefitter Journeyman and/or Foreman.
- Requires extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action, fire pumps, etc.)
- Must have a high level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and Unified Facility Criteria 03-601-02 and/or UFC 03-600-01 as well as other applicable codes and standards.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
- Must possess State Issued Driver's License with at least one year of remaining validity.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- NICET Certified Level III – Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
- NICET Certified Level III – Water-Based Systems Layout (MUST BE WILLING TO BECOME CERTIFIED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF HIRE).
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Certified Level I, II, III and IV - Special Hazards Systems.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University is highly desired.
- Experience with Tyco Systems.
- Experience with Ansul Systems.
- Experience with Viking Systems.
- Experience with Reliable Systems.
