Diego Garcia is a remote, tropical island in the Indian Ocean with a Naval Support Facility that serves as the base of operations, maintenance and logistical support for operational forces forward deployed to the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf areas. KBR provides a wealth of services to keep the base running and mission ready.
The HAZMINCEN Supervisor will:
- Load and unload material on trucks or other conveyances.
- Track all incoming HAZMAT from cradle to grave.
- Arrange storage facilities and segregate hazardous materials by type and class maintaining fire and safety protection to personnel.
- Organize, prioritize, and follow through to the completion of multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ensure that all incoming HAZMAT are properly accounted for and processed in N-ERP, barcoded, and labeled prior to issuance and delivery to customers.
- Assist customers in obtaining MSDS/SDS and other documents, as necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections for all containers to prevent deterioration caused by contamination of cold, light, heat, and moisture.
- Perform weekly/monthly HAZMAT Locker Inspections for all work centers established in CHRIMP and report all non-conformances to the Supply Manager and recommend corrective actions to resolve all discrepancies.
- Liaise with Environmental personnel for disposal of empty containers and expired HAZMAT.
- Implement and administer the shelf-life program and conduct inventories, as necessary.
- Safeguard all materials in storage/warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have an Active U.S. Government granted Secret Security Clearance and maintain it for the duration of employment on this contract.
- Requires at least 5 years of experience in operations of HAZMAT/HAZMIN facility.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey information professionally and tactfully to individuals and clients.
- Must be contract-oriented and computer literate in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid or be able to obtain MHE license up to 10k and vehicle license for up to 10 tons of stake truck.
- Knowledge of HAZMAT compatibility and Segregation Procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of HM/HW training requirements:
- 80-Hours Training on Transportation of Hazardous Material
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
- Hazardous Substance Incident Response Management (HSIRM)
- Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM)
