Job Summary and Qualifications
The AVP of Support Services Financial Operations provides direct financial leadership over HCA Healthcare shared services functions with annualized operations totaling $2.6 billion. As the AVP, you are responsible for the oversite of financial and performance measurements across the Support Services portfolio (Environmental Services, Food Services and Facilities Management). This role is critical in partnering with Support Services Leadership (CFO, VP Operations and VP- Operations Support) to drive financial/operational strategies across the organization inclusive of labor management, quality improvement and HR initiatives.
Major Responsibilities
- Strategically leads the financial operations of HCA’s Support Services organization, including both corporate functions and field-based shared services organization
*Develops strategy by assuming a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing operating costs through people, process, and technology enhancements
*Leads and directs preparation of short- and long-range budgets, strategic plans, monthly financial/operational reports, and ad hoc financial requests designed to manage performance
*Directs shared financial reporting personnel activities to ensure accurate financial results
*Oversee the development and implementation of standardized financial operations policies and procedures inclusive of accounting policies, controls and reporting
*Responsible for the leadership and development of all direct reports.
- Provides strategic guidance to Division, hospitals and operational management through financial analysis, ad hoc reports, proformas and forecasts – including establishment of performance targets and operational execution to achieve targeted performance
- Partner in the development, deployment and integration of next generation capabilities:
*Automation Improvements through partnership with Parallon’s Automation Center of Excellence (ACOE)
*Digital Transformation (inclusive of AI) products to enhance and streamline insights and operational effectiveness.
- Establishes and maintains key stakeholder relationships to effectively collaborate with strategic functional areas to drive corporate wide initiatives. This includes and is not limited to Performance Improvement, Accounting, Group/Division Finance Leadership, Capital Asset Management, Strategy Resource Group and Corporate Senior Management.
- Leads overall development and review of financial business cases across Support Services functions to further drive service line initiatives within organization
- Actively participates and partners with HealthTrust Energy Team in the deployment and execution of utility hedging program
What You Need for This Role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, required; master’s degree preferred.
- 10-12 years’ experience of progressive accounting/auditing/management experience, within acute care setting, highly preferred
- 3-4 years’ experience in hospital operations financial management within a large healthcare system, required
- CPA, preferred
