Are you ready to be the face of Amazon Transportation Fleet Maintenance? As a Fleet Asset Specialist, you will be a vital member of Amazon Transportation Services in support of our growing fleet of assets. The Fleet Asset Specialist provides on-site support to our Transportation Operations Management (TOM) partners and maintenance vendors to maximize value and our fleet asset uptime. An ideal candidate brings a background in managing equipment, experience working with maintenance vendors and operation teams, driving improvement, mitigating barriers with maintenance vendors, and achieving organizational targets. This job requires a strong ability to work independently as this role has responsibility for multiple locations that make up a node. As a Fleet Asset Specialist, you will help with identification of barriers to asset uptime, support local maintenance escalations and help root-cause equipment failures, and perform ad-hoc asset inspections as directed by leadership within your node. The ability to effectively communicate with vendors and local transportation teams is a critical aspect of daily operations, providing updates and prioritization as needed.
Key job responsibilities
• Execute the daily standard work necessary to manage equipment within a node, including inspecting equipment, observing vehicle trends, and supporting deep dives of downed assets.
• Be a path of escalation when equipment repairs exceed an acceptable timeline, in an effort to expedite equipment repairs.
• Maintaining relationships and oversight of maintenance vendors permitted to work on Amazon equipment and drive vendor adherence to service level agreements.
• Audit documentation support to ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance; stay aware of maintenance requirements / equipment standards, and support all regulatory inspections required to maintain DOT compliance
• Contribute to team efforts by recommending process improvements that help prevent equipment damage or that may increase the speed of repairs
• Monitoring for and escalating safety concerns related to Amazon employees, our contractors, and our equipment
• Work with cross-functional teams. Use analytical skills to drive data-driven decision, and effectively communicate insights to others across TOM, Fleet, and Maintenance Centralized Services.
You are applying to a non-regulated driving role. This position requires a valid driver's license. An offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background screening and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening.
