Summary of Position
JobsOhio is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team. This role works within the Creative Services Team and alongside the Marketing and Communications teams to build and evolve the JobsOhio brands, supporting economic development and growth in the state. The Graphic Designer understands how to balance marketing and communication goals with creative output through a wide range of static and motion graphic needs and has the design skills to create for different brands with different audiences. They will work alongside our in-house and agency partner designers to collaborate and deliver high performing designs. The Graphic Designer will also be looked to for Art Direction and Motion Graphics and will collaborate closely with our Director, Creative Services and other members of the MarComm team to align with goals.
This is a hands-on role requiring demonstrated skill in graphic design. We will request a portfolio with examples of your creative approach, including static and motion graphic samples, advertising, fully executed campaigns, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Highly proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (specially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects/Flash and/or Dreamweaver)
- Develop and design graphic concepts for a wide range of creative needs, including but not limited to: digital and print ads, social media content, marketing collateral, signage, experiential / tradeshow events and booth, infographics, e-mail marketing, motion graphics for use in video and/or standalone project, presentation materials, and other departmental/company needs.
- Digital design is at the forefront of your thinking ensuring that design supports the user experience and metrics associated with performance inform design outputs.
- Have and maintain a contemporary knowledge of design theory and tactics, including a keen eye and skill for typography, color and style. Additionally perform design audits and other research and information gathering to inform design
- Meet with internal team members and/or the Director, Creative Services and determine the approach, scope and (when necessary) budget of projects to create designs that deliver on key messages and advise on design strategies to reach and engage audiences
- Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics/motion graphics, and layouts. On projects involving design/ motion graphic elements, present concepts to internal teams and incorporate edits and revisions in a timely manner
- Expand, update and, maintain the various JobsOhio brand assets
- Attention to details, review and proof designs for errors before printing / publication
- Liaison for JobsOhio with any vendors working on graphic designs/ prints
- Be a proactive and cooperative team member who can also work independently and have a track record of creating and consistently meeting project deadlines
- Strong understanding of file management, inclusive of leveraging a digital asset management tool.

Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of design and motion graphics experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects.
- Strong cross-functional team relationship management and able to work in an extremely collaborative environment
- Experience working with agencies and/or an integrated marketing team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize projects with highest impact
- Strong attention to detail and an excellent communicator

Education Requirements
