Radar/Seeker Analyst
Improve Army Weapon system through performance analysis!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Will analyze PATRIOT Guidance Performance for Live Firings, Ground Testing, and Simulation. This will require knowledge of the Radar/Seeker signal and data processing methods. The emphasis will be on Seeker Target Acquisition/Track and Terminal Guidance/Endgame, but it will also include analysis of Radar/Missile Uplink/Downlink communication. These analyses will require understanding of Radar techniques for good Detection/Track performance for both high speed targets and targets in clutter and multipath environments. Will develop Test Plans, participate in PATRIOT testing, write Test Incident Reports (TIRs) as necessary, and review TIR responses. Will be responsible for reviewing and keeping up with Software changes to PATRIOT Missile Guidance and supporting functions. This will require knowledge of the PATRIOT Operational Concept and understanding of related PATRIOT functions (such as Surveillance, Fire Control) which interface with the Guidance function. Will be required to become proficient in PATRIOT data reduction software with a wide variety of output files from both the tactical system and simulation, the specific variables within the files, and how to apply them to determine Missile performance. Will analyze PATRIOT Guidance performance which is integrated into other system architectures, including the Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense System (IAMD) and the new Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS).
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, problem-solver, resourceful, highly motivated and detail oriented. The position requires good time management capabilities and communication skills.
Relocation: Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or able to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
· Able to travel about 5-10% of the time
· Candidate must be a US Citizen
· Candidate must be eligible for a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Radar-related Signal Processing Experience or Coursework is desired.
· Experience in Air & Missile Defense Weapon Systems, Flight Tests/Ground System Tests, Data Analysis
· Understanding of MATLAB, C/C++, Python, SQL, Visual Basic (VB), C#, or any other high-level programming language is desired.
· Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules
· Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
· Ability to brief audiences large or small of varying technical knowledge
