SUMMARY
The main job is to make sure that materials are supplied to where they are needed. As a material replenishment position, the Material Handler Spider must be intimate with the processes and people they are supporting to fully understand the needs. The goal with this position is to maintain the continuous flow of materials needed between the warehouse and the manufacturing areas. Keeping all workstations stocked with materials, thus controlling the continuous flow of productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load and Unload Trucks
- Receives New Goods
- Stock Shelves
- Pull Bills of Material and Other Day-to-day Stockroom Functions
- Understand the Daily Operations of the shipping and Receiving Department
- Opens containers.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Moves raw material through the plant to its dedicated work area as requested.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and transports load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
- Maintain parts shortages and outages reporting in all areas and communicates information with Purchasing.
- Responsible to use FIFO material handling (First In First Out).
- Maintain and apply 5S and Lean concepts in designated areas.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Utilizing a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle),loads and unloads freight from inbound and outbound trucks.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Loads industrial tugger with tugger carts.
- Lifts heavy objects(up to 30lbs) by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area
- Assembles crates to contain products for finished goods.
- Operates industrial overhead crane.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Basic reading/writing skills
- Ability to read and understand all job specifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year related experience and/or training.
