The Team:
At GM, we look to move humanity forward. We translate breakthrough technologies into vehicles and experience that people love. It all starts with research and development. We are looking for R&D Interns to craft, design, and develop groundbreaking designs and concepts. In this internship, you will plan and execute collaborative research to generate new knowledge and sophisticated technology for our vehicles. Our culture of "Innovate Now" gives you the opportunity to be creative and implement designs that could possibly be driving around in the near future!
Our team is part of the Energy and Propulsion Systems Research (EPSR) lab in R&D where we concentrate on the research, innovation, and development of future electrification and propulsion technologies. The focus of our team is the technology called Vehicle Health Management (VHM, a.k.a. Prognostics), which involves the prediction of vehicle system issues, and the notification of drivers before vehicle performance is impacted. GM has been leading the way of developing VHM technology to provide customers with an unprecedented level of assurance, convenience, and ownership experience. An example of VHM is the industry-first OnStar Proactive Alert, a service that is currently available on more than 10 million vehicles. It provides early warning to customers in case a component failure is impending, thereby turning emergency repairs into scheduled maintenance events. If you have deep knowledge of physical systems (such as advanced energy storage) and cutting-edge big data / AI / ML technologies, join our world-class research team today to make a positive impact to the lives of millions of people.
What You’ll Do:
