Process Engineer Intern

KBR is looking for a Process Engineer Intern that will contribute to the Project Definition department by learning technical skills required for a process engineer while assisting in providing valuable deliverables for our customer’s projects.
What to expect: In the Project Definition department, as an intern, you will gain practical experience to understand what a day in the life of a Process engineer looks like and perform tangible meaningful work to reinforce your skills as a Process engineer while making an impact on real world customers.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures
Attend customer site meetings and field walk downs
P&ID and PFD development
Hydraulic calculations
Relief valve calculations
Vessel sizing
Process simulations and material balances
Possibility to cross-train in other Engineering disciplines such as Environmental, Process Safety, and/or Furnaces
Communicates and resolves technical issues as related to project assigned tasks
Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, and all other departments
Ensures all project documentation for his/her own work is completed
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, seeking a baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral degree; or recently graduated from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral degree (Chemical Engineering) .
Good academic standing as established by your college or university
Completion of all discipline specific curriculum through Sophomore/2nd year
Strong knowledge of and use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
Nice to Have: exposure to programming (any language)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
